About Louise
Psychotherapist, Coach & Nonprofit Leadership Consultant
My lifelong work has been focused on supporting others individually, as a couple or family, or within communities and organizations. The exploration of feeling stuck, lost or simply stressed, anxious or confused and discovering your strengths and finding the path forward is my passion. Whether you wish to improve your quality of life or you are struggling with unimaginable pain, I believe in each person’s ability to heal, to recover from a “dark night of the soul,” and to find meaning and motivation again.
I have been privileged to work with people and communities of all ages and diverse backgrounds facing life’s most difficult challenges including trauma or facing end of life. This has included individual therapy and coaching, group facilitation internationally with war refugees, working with communities after a suicide cluster, and bereavement groups for parents who have lost children. With my experience, I have learned that no challenge is too great or too unsolvable and it is never too late to seek support. Sometimes problems are unclear or overlap - meaning you may not be sure where to start and are simply feeling uncertain, anxious or lost. Couples often begin with feeling hopeless. My approach is to start with where you are – genuinely trusting in each person’s unique, unfolding process. My clients often remark that they feel a sense of safety and acceptance leading to a process of discovery. Together, we identify and resolve challenges, find healing, develop tools to face the hard stuff, and regain the strength and confidence to find a positive path forward.
Past clients have included Kaiser Permanente, Coming Home Hospice, the International Center for Attitudinal Healing and Sutter Health.
